Business email accounts can be used not only through webmail but also with Outlook, iPhone and Android mail applications. Correct incoming and outgoing server settings are required.
What is IMAP?
IMAP keeps messages on the mail server and allows multiple devices to synchronize with the same mailbox. It is commonly used when email needs to be available on computers, phones and webmail.
What is SMTP?
SMTP is used for sending email. Your application needs the correct SMTP server, username and password before it can send messages.
Use SSL/TLS
Secure connection options should be enabled when configuring a mail application. Unencrypted connections should be avoided.
What should the username be?
In most business email environments, the username is the complete email address, such as name@company.com.
Outlook setup
If Outlook cannot configure the account automatically, choose manual IMAP/SMTP configuration and enter the server settings provided by your email administrator.
iPhone and Android setup
Mobile devices generally allow an IMAP account to be added using an “Other” or manual configuration option.
MX1Mail users
MX1Mail users can access business email through webmail, supported mobile options and standard email clients.
