Moving to MX1Mail
Changing a business email provider can be straightforward when the migration is planned in the correct order.
The first step is to add the company domain to MX1Mail and prepare the destination mailboxes.
Analyze existing email
A secure IMAP connection can be used to analyze folders and messages on the existing mail server. This makes it possible to understand how much historical data needs to be preserved.
Historical email archive
Historical email does not necessarily need to consume active mailbox storage. Older messages can be stored in a dedicated archive and made available when users need to access previous communication.
DNS cutover
After destination accounts and historical data are prepared, MX and related DNS records can be updated to point to the MX1Mail infrastructure.
New incoming messages then begin arriving through MX1Mail while the previous provider can remain available temporarily for final verification.
